The Beginning
How a concert for a cause sparked a movement to end hunger
Where It All Started
Hunger Aid was born from a simple but powerful idea: that music, community, and compassion could come together to fight food insecurity. In February, a "Concert for a Cause" event brought together local artists, volunteers, and community members united by one goal — to make sure no one in their community went hungry.
What began as a single event quickly grew into something much larger. The energy in the room that night made it clear that this was more than a fundraiser — it was the beginning of a movement. Hunger Aid was officially founded, rooted in the belief that every person deserves access to fresh, nutritious food.
The Joplin Globe newspaper took notice, covering the story and helping spread the word about Hunger Aid's mission to the wider community. That coverage helped amplify the message: food insecurity is a real and urgent issue, and together we can do something about it.

From That Night Forward
Since that founding February concert, Hunger Aid has grown into a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with a national vision. Through partnerships with the Arise Veteran Foundation and the Entertainment Against Hunger initiative, we have expanded our reach — developing sustainable farming programs, supporting veterans, and building community food networks across the country.
Every initiative we launch traces back to that first night — the belief that when people come together for a cause, real change is possible. H.E.L.P — Healing Every Living Person — is not just our motto. It is our origin story.
